Doctor of the Church is a title given by a variety of Christian churches to individuals whom they recognize as having been of particular importance, particularly regarding their contribution to theology or doctrine. In Catholicism, this title is given to a saint from whose writings the whole Church is held to have derived great advantage and to whom “eminent learning” and “great sanctity” have been attributed by a proclamation of a pope or of an ecumenical council. This honour is given rarely, only posthumously, and only after canonization. No ecumenical council has yet exercised the prerogative of proclaiming a Doctor of the Church. Saint Ambrose, Saint Augustine, Saint Jerome, and Pope Gregory I were the original Doctors of the Church and were named in 1298. They are known collectively as the Great Doctors of the Western Church. The four Great Doctors of the Eastern Church, John Chrysostom, Basil the Great, Gregory of Nazianzus, and Athanasius of Alexandria were recognized in 1568 by Pope St. Pius V………… READ MORE

NO ONE MORE QUALIFIED OR HOLY IS ABLE TO INTRODUCE THE DOCTORS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AS ST JOSEPH. HE WHO CREATED THE SUN WAS SUBJECT TO HIM. THE QUEEN OF THE HEAVENLY COURT CALLED JOSEPH HER MASTER. BOTH JESUS AND MARY WERE BEHOLDEN TO THE FAITHFUL GUARDIAN AND PROTECTOR OF THE HOLY
FAMILY. HE IS THE PATRON OF THE CHURCH IN HEAVEN AS JESUS MADE PETER AND HIS SUCCESSORS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH ON EARTH. ALL THE DOCTORS ARE IN COMPLETE AWE OF JOSEPH AND HIS EMINENT POSITION AS HEAD OF THE HOLY FAMILY AND PATRON OF THE ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH. ON MAY 1ST, THE CHURCH CELEBRATES ST JOSEPH THE WORKER, PICTURED HERE AS A CARPENTER. HIS OWN SPECIAL FEAST DAY IS MARCH 19TH (Sasha’s Birthday). THIS DAY IS TYPICALLY HELD DURING LENT. FATHER’S DAY IS GENERALLY CELEBRATED ON THE THIRD SUNDAY IN JUNE AMD IS ANOTHER DAY TO REMEMBER JOSEPH. THOSE WHO TURN TO HIM ALWAYS RECEIVE THE BEST SOLUTION TO THEIR PRAYERS OR REQUEST. OFTEN IT IS BETTER THAN EXPECTED. HE NEVER FAILS THOSE WITH GENUINE FAITH AND PERSEVERANCE. JOSEPH IS A MOST POWERFUL INTERCESSOR FOR US IN HEAVEN AND THE PATRON OF A HAPPY DEATH. HE IS ALSO A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR ANYONE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THEIR FAMILIES OR THOSE IN NEED.
